FAQ
Magnetic car signs: your questions answered.
Can’t find yours? Call us on 0800 644 8088, Mon to Fri, 9am to 5.30pm.
Which size do I need?
Measure the flat part of your door, avoiding body lines, handles and mouldings. 40 × 60 cm suits most hatchbacks and saloons. 50 × 80 cm suits estates, SUVs, pick-ups and larger doors. If you’re between the two, send us a photo with your order and we’ll advise. Custom sizes are available on request.
What’s the difference between rectangle and contour cut?
A rectangle is the classic sign shape and gives you the most room for your details. A contour cut follows the outline of your design, so a logo or shape sits on the door like it’s painted on. Both are the same price. Our designers set the cut line on your proof so you can see exactly what you’ll get.
Do I pay before I see a design?
Yes. You order first, then we design. You get up to 3 free revisions and nothing is printed until you approve the proof. If you change your mind, you can cancel within 24 hours of ordering, provided design work hasn’t started. See Refunds & Returns.
Will magnetic car signs damage my paintwork?
Not when they’re looked after. Fit them to clean, dry paint. Lift them off every two or three days (daily in hot weather), wash both the sign and the panel with soapy water only, dry and refit. Grit trapped underneath is what marks paint, so keeping both surfaces clean is the main thing. Never fit them over fresh paint, body filler or across trim, and store them flat when they’re off.
Do they stay on at motorway speed?
Yes, when they’re fitted correctly. They’re made from premium vehicle-grade magnetic sheet and designed to stay on at normal road speeds, including on the motorway. Fit them to clean, dry, flat steel panels, press them down from the centre out so every edge is in contact, and check they’re secure before every journey.
Is my car suitable?
Magnetic signs need a flat, painted steel surface. Many modern cars have aluminium doors, bonnets or tailgates that a magnet won’t grip. Check with a fridge magnet first: if it doesn’t hold, give us a call and we’ll talk you through the options.
